Interview with Realtor - Jasmine Desiree

Where did you grow up?

I’m a California girl, born and raised. I grew up in a small desert two hours north of Los Angeles. It’s east of the Sierra Nevadas and west of Death Valley, which means it’s smack dab in the middle of some of California’s best-kept secrets and beautifully weird backdrops.

What is your background?

I've lived many lives. After serving nearly six years in the Air Force, I moved to L.A. and went to fashion school; I always wanted to write for design and fashion magazines. After working at a few L.A.-based publications, I began assisting at a real estate brokerage for extra money. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it and got my license! That was eight years ago, and I still write and do real estate.

How did you get into real estate?

I rented a place from an agent who offered me an assisting job. I assisted for a year before getting licensed. I live and work in Los Feliz, so it made sense to focus only on real estate in Los Feliz and surrounding neighborhoods. I have a knack for finding unique and special spaces, and this neighborhood is full of them. I also help homeowners renovate their properties before listing them for rent/sale. I love giving a home a makeover, so being able to play a part in that process has been the best of both worlds—design and real estate.

Other things you'd like people to know about you?

I'm unapologetically “woo-woo.” I may or may not be known for meditating in listings to ensure they call in the right buyer/renter.

I’m a published writer with bylines in Architectural Digest, PopSugar, Coveteur, and more.

I make really good chocolate chip cookies.

Pool days and estate sales are my happy places!
